The China Diary: Day 7, Qingcheng Mountain

Yinxiu Shangting Resort

This gorgeous resort near Qingcheng Mountain is amazing. The entire resort has ornate pieces of art including hand carved wood pieces, beautiful coy fish ponds and more.

If you ever are planning to head to the area to visit Qingcheng Mountain, I highly recommend this resort to spend the night at.

Yinxiu Shangting Resort

The Yinxiu Resort makes it's food with all natural ingredients and on site preparation. Above, you can find one of the delicious dishes they served us, but before we indulged, they gave us the 411 on how it's made.

This is Tofu Skin, in mardarin it's pronounced Do Pee. It is made by boiling soymilk in a shallow open pan. Once it boils, a thin film forms on the surface. This thin film is dried, as shown, to become tofu skin. The texture is similar to that of a soft noddle, and the flavor is much better than that of regular tofu. (I personally love eating it with noodles or hot pot!)

We had a wonderful meal before heading out to our next adventure.

Qingcheng Mountain

Located in the Sichuan part of southeast China, Qingcheng Mountain is one of the most importance and famous Taoist Mountains in China. It has become the centre of Taoism and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mountain is located in Dujiangyan, Chengdu, the Sichuan part of China. The mountain itself has 36 different peaks, and it also houses the Giant Panda Center.

The path to the entrance of the mountain is such a beautiful and peaceful walk. The road is lined with gorgeous tall trees, there are flower gardens all around.

One of the many entrances to Qingcheng Mountain. There are numerous temples atop the mountain.

The easiest and fastest route to the top is by cable car/gondola.
